Assessment and Evaluation Policy

 

Classes Nursery to Prep I, Prep II
Assessment is integral to all teaching and learning process. At the Pre-Primary level we view assessment as a tool for feedback to the learning process. A wide range of assessment strategies and tools– anecdotal records, checklists, continuum and scholar’s portfolios of work are used to assess the learning outcomes of the student. Promotion to next grade takes place, with no pass or fail.

CLASSES I and II
The school session is divided into two terms
TERM I – April to September
TERM II – October to March

Each term has TWO Periodic Test cycles for Classes I & II (Weekly Tests). Student will also be assessed on various parameters like reading skills, writing skills, speaking skills, listening skills, notebook, assignments, project/activity, concept application, group discussion, computer application, general knowledge, life skills, etc. throughout the session.

Students of Classes I – II are assessed for the following subjects:
• English
• Hindi
• Mathematics
• E.V.S
• Computer Application

CLASSES III and IV
The school session is divided into two terms i.e. TERM I and TERM II.
TERM I – April to September
TERM II – October to March

Each term has TWO Periodic Test cycles for Classes III & IV (Weekly Tests). Student will also be assessed on various parameters like reading skills, writing skills, speaking skills, listening skills, notebook, assignments, project/activity, concept application, group discussion, computer application, general knowledge, life skills, etc. throughout the session.

Students of Classes III – IV are assessed for the following subjects:
• English
• Hindi
• Mathematics
• Science
• Social Science
• Computers

CLASSES V to VIII
The school session is divided into two terms i.e. TERM I and TERM II.
TERM I – April to September
TERM II – October to March

For Classes V to VIII, each term has TWO Periodic Test cycles (Weekly Tests) of 40 marks and one Term End Examination of 80 marks. The complete work of the child which includes notebook/assignment, subject enrichment activities, surprise test/class test, holiday homework, project/activity, pre-assignment and revision tests will also be assessed throughout the session.

Students of Classes V – VIII are assessed for the following subjects:
• English
• Hindi
• German / French
• Mathematics
• Science
• Social Science
• Computer Application

CLASS IX
The school session is divided into two terms i.e. TERM I and TERM II.
TERM I – April to September
TERM II – October to March

Class IX: Term I has TWO Periodic Test cycles (Weekly Tests) of 40 marks and one Term End Examination of 80 marks. Term II has TWO Periodic Test cycles of 40 marks and one Term End Examination of 80 marks.
The complete work of the child which includes Practical-lab work, notebook/assignments, subject enrichment activities, surprise test/class tests, holiday homework, project/activity, pre-assignment and revision tests will also be assessed throughout the session.

Students of Class IX are assessed for the following subjects:
• English Language and Literature
• Hindi Course B / German / French
• Mathematics (Basic or Standard)
• Science
• Social Science
• Information Technology

CLASS X
The school session is divided into two terms i.e. TERM I and TERM II.
TERM I – March to September
TERM II – October to February
For Class X, Term I has TWO Periodic Test cycles (Weekly Tests) of 40 marks and one Term End Examination of 80 marks. Term II has one cycle of Periodic Test, Two Pre-Boards of 80 marks each and one Mock Test of 80 marks followed by the Board Examination of 80 marks.

The complete work of the child which includes Practical-lab work, notebook/assignments, subject enrichment activities, surprise test/class tests, holiday homework, project/activity, pre-assignment and revision tests will also be assessed throughout the session.

Students of Class X are assessed for the following subjects:
• English Language and Literature
• Hindi Course B / German / French
• Mathematics (Basic or Standard)
• Science
• Social Science
• Information Technology

CLASSES XI
The school session is divided into two terms i.e. TERM I and TERM II.
TERM I – April to September
TERM II – October to March
For Class XI, Term I has TWO Periodic Test cycle (Weekly Test) of 40 marks and one Term End Examination of 80 marks. Term II has TWO Periodic Test cycles of 40 marks and one Term End Examination of 80 marks.

The complete work of the child which includes Practical-lab work, notebook/assignments, subject enrichment activities, surprise test/class tests, holiday homework, project/activity, pre-assignment and revision tests will also be assessed throughout the session.

CLASSES XII
The school session is divided into two terms i.e. TERM I and TERM II.
TERM I – March to September
TERM II – October to February
For Class XII, Term I has TWO Periodic Test cycles (Weekly Tests) of 40 marks and one Term End Examination of 80 marks. Term II has one cycle of Periodic Test, Two Pre-Boards of 80 marks each and one Mock Test of 80 marks followed by the Board Examination of 80 marks.

The CBSE practical examination for all the subjects is conducted in the month of January–February before the commencement of the Board Examinations.
